## Processes where decisions must be reviewable.

Government workflows, including HR processes, need a way to examine how AI reaches and acts on a result. That requires a record of the steps executed, the responsibilities involved, and the route through the workflow.

Within work extending Neol’s government services, the challenge was to build that control into the architecture while helping the participating teams work with the technology.

The work produced multi-agent systems with defined responsibilities, bounded reasoning, and an execution trail available for review.

For participating teams, this provides a way to examine the steps behind a result and discuss changes in the context of the actual process.

How it went

## Give the workflow structure and a record.

1. Responsibilities  
### Define agent responsibilities  
We used a multi-agent architecture in which each agent works on a bounded part of the task. This creates explicit responsibilities within a larger process.
2. Reasoning  
### Bound the reasoning process  
The architecture draws on BRAID and structured reasoning steps. Bounded reasoning gives the system a defined framework for progressing through a task.
3. Record  
### Make execution auditable  
The work includes a record of the steps a decision passed through. Teams can return to that record when they need to examine what the system did.
4. Workshops  
### Work with the people running the process  
We ran on-site workshops with government teams and analysts, working on their processes and integration with the AI platform. Architecture and adoption were addressed together.
